When was mean girls 2 made

During her High School year she finds "The Plastics", the bossy bitches of school who make everyone else feel unappreciated while they live it up. Along the way, Jo meets the outcast Abby Stone.

A shocking, but rewarding deal. Jo accepts. Jo then turns down an offer of hanging out with Plastic leader Mandi Walsh , and is now on the chopping block. Mandi witnesses Jo hanging with Abby and is shocked. Mandi makes Jo's life a living hell. Whats her plan? Well, Jo must've read an old year book about Lindsay Lohan's encounter with The Plastics because she does just what Cady did in the original; she tries to bring The Plastics down.

Things start out good, go bad, then end good and happy. This shouldn't even be related to the original near-masterpiece Mean Girls was. It's just a poorly made television remake of a great film. It should've been called In the Race anyone who's seen it will get the joke.

Oddly enough, in Camp Rock, Meaghan played the girl she is trying to avoid in this film. She sets such an image for herself in that movie, and it's awkward seeing her in the role of the protagonist. Still, she could be replaced with Lindsay Lohan and it wouldn't change the lackluster script or inevitable low budget sequel feel this one currently possess. The wit is also lost too. In the original film Mean Girls almost revolved around the way the girls spoke to each other.

Whether waving their hips or making some sort of uncalled for comment, the girls showed no mercy and were hysterical. Jo drops some fair lines, but pretty much the whole wit-filled one liners were missing.

I loved that stuff, where'd it go? What a shame Mean Girls 2 doesn't live up to it's name. Instead it curses the franchise by adding an unnecessary "2" in the title.

All it is is a remake of a film that doesn't need a damn sequel. It's clearly just a money hungry movie that doesn't care the reception it gets. Just as long as it makes a respectable profit. Directed by: Melanie Mayron. They couldn't get tina fey, so the sequel was dooooomed. The only name to return from part one is tim meadows, the principal, taking that easy paycheck.

He must not have had anything else to do! This one lacks the clever script and known faces, so it never really gets going. For the big showdown, the "ordinary" girls must get the best of the plastics!

The first one had some clever catch phrases, this one Skip it! Directed by Melanie Mayron. Similar to the first one, this was also based on the book by Rosalind Wiseman. Tina Fey, who wrote the first one, was in the middle of the hit show Thirty Rock, so she didn't need to mess around with writing this sequel.

Smart choice. After moving to a new school Jo Martin finds the "Plastics" and soon realizes how evil they can be. When Jo stands up for Abby Stone at school, Abby's dad offers to pay for her college which her dad can't afford if she will be Abby's friend. I will start by saying I thought the first one was really funny. Tim Meadows is the only returning cast member from the original, and the best part of the movie.

This one took everything that was funny and great about the first one and replaced it with the "New Plastics" just being evil. Not like first mean girl mean, but out right evil! There were a few scenes that made me chuckle but overall I felt bad for everyone in the school. If this is how high school girls really act now, private or home school is the way to go.

I also think I am probably 20 years to old to fully relate, and a guy, so I did not enjoy it. No big surprises here, very predictable and not very funny.

It does have the obligatory "Saved by the bell" story arc and ending. Evil, evil girls, decent message. Would I watch it again? A young girl named Jo Martin moves school and befriends a girl Stone who she helps with sticking up with the plastics now Claire Holt is the ringleader this time. Will Jo and her friend be able to stand up to the plastics. The only cast member from the 1st movie is Tim Meadows who plays the principal in this film. If you loved the first one than avoid this one as it's not as good as the Lindsay Lohan one she also didn't star in the sequel to Life Size either.

Appealing, not just mean but Incredibly cruel vchimpanzee 21 February Except for Tim Meadows, who is also a school principal in the role I am most familiar with, no one here was familiar. And he was about what you would expect, which is pretty good and not exactly inspiring confidence.

But it's all right that no one else was familiar. Many of the characters here were quite appealing. I don't know who Meaghan Martin is but she has this face that makes me think I've seen her numerous times. She is beautiful too pretty to be familiar with engines, and yet she is. And so incredibly appealing. And smart. And tough. I certainly didn't want her to be treated so cruelly by the in crowd. But no matter what is thrown at her, Jo can take it and she can get her revenge.

It's no wonder she ended up with so many friends, but even for her there is such a thing as going too far. And that's one of the lessons she had to learn.

Jo takes us on an emotional roller coaster. Abby is not much to look at but she is also very appealing and you hate to see her also be a victim. When she has the friends she deserves, she can also be quite a good friend, and she certainly doesn't deserve what comes later.

Jennifer Stone does a great job. Two young male characters I also found appealing. Diego Boneta as Tyler and Colin Dennard as the geeky but brilliant Elliott are pretty much what one would expect in a movie like this. I'm not entirely sure who the shop teacher was but he was also appealing in a quirky way, and I'm guessing he was the goofy referee for the football game that came later.

And you have to like Linden Ashby as Jo's father. I believe he shows the best acting skill of anyone. Of the three mean girls, I found Claire Holt as Chastity the most appealing.

Not only gorgeous but she has no brains and is so funny as a result. But whoever Maiara Walsh is, she just didn't have what it takes as the meanest girl of all. Something was missing in her performance, though it's a pleasure whenever she gets what she deserves. She spoke no actual words, but Autumn Dial does a great job looking silly while doing martial arts moves. Or perhaps she's quite good at those.

Early in the movie a lot of different schools were shown, and there's one in particular that looked great. I wish that had been the school chosen. Without a DVR I never would have gotten a good look. It's on screen for one second, but so many TV and movie schools look like this, the way most new schools in small to medium size cities looked in the s..

And the schools shown range from amazing architecture to very bland s or s styles. The school for this movie was somewhere in between and not what I would call particularly attractive on the outside. This movie is obviously targeted at teen girls, and I am definitely not one of them.

There's not a lot here for me. Yes, it's a silly teen formula movie. Yes, it's hard to watch at times. I still mostly had a good time. Once again, a sequel can't hold up to the original, and they wanted to make one to capitalize on the first one, but this one sort of held its own.

The first Mean Girls was a classic and something that should have been left alone, and I rented this one from Netflix out of curiosity, and I will admit it was not nearly as good as the original, but I could relate to the characters, in part because I remember my high school days.

An outcast's father offers to pay the new girl in school her way thru college if she befriends his daughter after she sticks up for her and give her a ride home from the cruel "plastics. Rent this if you remember the original and see what you think. It was OK at best. Am enjoyable movie! The first movie was a slightly-above-average teen drama comedy. This is pretty much the same thing.

I don't understand all the obsession over these movies. They're ok movies. They're not that great. Watch them if you like this stupid genre of movies following unlikable white girls in high school.

If that brand of cheap comedy doesn't appeal to you, then don't watch. I wouldn't recommend either movies, but the first one is slightly better. It was kinda good but yeah the idea was old but it was good to. When everything thought Mean Girl is just another teen movie, it come out to be something smart, sharp and edgy. Comparing to the original, this movie lacks in every department. From production, to direction to writing, to acting.

It won't be wrong to say that this was the worst tween movie I have seen in recent time counting all the tween ABC Family movies as well. Overall, trash this garbage, which is not remotely close to the Original Mean Girls. I really wish I could give fewer stars.

This film literally has nothing to to do with the original, and it is so unfunny with awful characters and an even worse plot. I literally feel bad for Tina Fey because of this.

It doesn't even get a grade, it's that bad. One of the worst films I have seen, have mercy on yourself from watching it, the characters of the movie were not at the level of the first part and even close to it, the comedy scenes in the movie were bad and vulgar, I do not recommend watching the movie at all. Honestly, I don't hate this as much as the majority, but I definitely don't love it by any means.

I think the film could've been so much more and it could've been more relatable and quoteable but instead they made it way too melodramatic and not nearly as interesting as the original. OK I really thought this one would suck as none of the original cast except for Tim Meadows stars in this one. However i was pleasantly surprised at it although not as good as the original it was pretty close.

Pretty much aside from Meadows is cast with unknowns. This time the new girl who moves into town and North Shore High is Jo played by Meaghan Jette Martin she lives with her widowed out of work stock car mechanic father although he is presently is working on a engine to get him back on top.

Jo finds out to soon that things at North Shore haven't changed and are still as 'plastic' as ever. Dan Coleman Mr. Winkle as Mr. Mike Pniewski Mr. Giamatti as Mr. Juliet Kim Ling as Ling. Melanie Mayron. More like this. Watch options. Storyline Edit. The plastics are back! Rated PG for some rude and suggestive material, and for language.

Did you know Edit. Trivia Tina Fey was given numerous offers by Paramount to write a sequel to Mean Girls but she turned them down. Goofs When the principal is doing his dance whilst filming himself, the image is being played out to the entire school. However the image the students see is the image from the directors camera rather then the small mini cam the principal is using to film himself. As such the image the students are watching should be from the mini cams perspective, not from our perspective.
