The nonprofit honors the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller, who laid his life on September 11, to save others. It also honors US military and relief workers who continue to sacrifice life and limbs for their country. Siller, of Westerleigh, will be honored with a Louis R. Miller, a West Brighton businessman and resident who is also a community leader used to be.
Siller also owned and operated Preferred Realty Development Corp. While visiting Sergeant Brendan Marrocco — the first-ever surviving quadruple amputee and a hometown of Staten Islander — Siller offered to build Marrocco a maintenance-free, high-tech home designed for his needs. Siller has also been active in his parish and in the community.
He coached boys and girls basketball and baseball for over 40 years and toured teams nationally, preparing students for college sports and scholarship funding opportunities. The Siller family received the esteemed Albert V. All the work done to edit and produce this book was done by volunteers.
